I have had these in for 3 weeks... I searched for a long time for great quality tape ins that would not break the bank. I am a clip-in connoisseur, so I wanted to try something that would be semi-permanent, instead of having to remove them every night.So here goes - PROS: 1) The texture and color match my 1B, relaxed hair PERFECTLY; 2) The tape is strong - I have washed my hair twice, once with a sulfate-free shampoo and once with Sulfur 8 because I have dandruff. Both times I deep conditioned under heat for 20 minutes. I applied a leave-in conditioner and hair serum each time after washing. About 2 to 3 times a week I add argon oil or oil sheen to my hair for shine. Even with all of this oil and conditioning, my tapes have not slid out, not a one; 3) They do not tangle at all; 4) 2 bundles of 40 pieces was plenty for a natural-looking full head (I didn't even use all 80 pieces, and you can see the fullness in the pics, even the ponytail). CONS: 1) The shed tremendously. I want to be able to reuse them after I take them down after the recommended 6-8 weeks, but I am afraid that I will not be able to because they will have thinned from shedding so much; 2) The tape part started out black and undetectable, but as time is progressing with more wear, the outer part (on some of them) is starting to look white/gray and becoming harder to conceal against my natural black hair. At first I could wear buns, but now it's become hard to conceal the tape in the back (see picture- I pull hair off of the tape in so that you can see the faded color).I need to add that I 1) wrap them, twist/braid them and cover them with a silk bonnet every night. 2) I workout with them 5-6 days a week, and I sweat profusely. 3) I have not tried to curl them yet, but I have flat-ironed and blown them dry twice.I must say that the PROS outweigh the CONS, so I will PROBABLY repurchase this brand again, UNLESS something better comes along. :) For further inquiries, please feel free to email me at [email protected].
